Hadley’s character development was magnificent, but the rest of the characters had room for improvement. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good, but nothing great. My Thoughts: I picked up this book based on the fonts :) Kudos to the cover designers for creating such a spot-on design! Cover aside, the book wasn’t as good as it looked. Will Hadley and Oliver ever see each other again? And, then just like that, they disappear from each other lives, although neither were ready to say goodbye. Over the course of five hours, they bonded with each other, learning the basics, like favorite colors and foods, and the deeper stuff, like Hadley’s relationship with her dad, and more about Oliver’s family. However, if she didn’t miss her flight, how would she have met the handsome, charming Oliver? Oliver and Hadley were coincidentally both going to London for family matters, and just happened to have seats next together. The time it takes to make your bed or eat your breakfast, those four minutes caused Hadley to reschedule her flight. Summary: Hadley is on her way to London for her dad’s wedding when she misses her flight by four. Small and blond = pretty in the ways that count? GAAAH!Įvaluation: A nice, light read for Valentine’s Day with a good message (besides the one about small and blond = pretty). The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. “…she didn’t tend to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, but she was small and blond and pretty enough in the ways that seemed to count for the boys at her school.” The second is when Hadley describes herself: REALLY? In 2012, you can just run up to an international flight four MINUTES ahead of time, and think you’re going to get on?!!!

One is at the very beginning, when Hadley just misses the plane by four minutes. Hadley is a little self-obsessed and immature, but over the course of the long flight, she learns a thing or two from Oliver, and gets a new perspective on what is really important.ĭiscussion: There were two GAAAH moments for me in this otherwise cute book.

On the next flight, she happens to sit next to 18-year-old Oliver, a handsome boy who is also visiting his family in London. Hadley, age 17, missed the first flight to London she is supposed to take to attend her father’s second wedding, about which she’s unhappy and resentful. It’s the perfect book when you want a Hallmark movie equivalent, especially for Valentine’s Day. There isn’t one moment in this sweet story when you don’t know what is going to happen next, but still, that didn’t stop me from reading it.
